That's how many people we are aiming for Friend and Family Day on June 1. We had all who wished ... pray about a number, and had them write it on a piece of paper. Then, I took all those numbers, averaged them out, and got 73.
Pray for 73...or 173! :-)

2. This upcoming Sunday, May 4, our Conference President Blake Jones will be here speaking in the morning and evening services. Don't miss it!

3. June 1st will be Family and Friend Day at our Church. Invite all your family and friends to this special day! We will be having a fellowship meal at the garage afterwards.

Easter Egg Hunt cancelled

Due to the cold weather we've been having, we will be cancelling our Easter Egg hunt for next Saturday. (22nd) We will be rescheduling another get-together in the future.

It was nice to have good weather for our services yesterday. We had some good services with numerous family relatives visiting yesterday. God is good!

Feb. 7 - Youth Valentines Cupcake party (hey, that's the best title I could come up with :-)
Feb. 10 - Special Valentines' outreach service ("God's love commitment to YOU!"
Feb. 15 - Taco's & Banana Split Valentines shindig, for the adults 7PM (yes, see above statement in parentheses)
Feb. 17 - "Marital Commitment" sermon

Also, for Wednesday evenings we are studying the minor prophets (Habakkuk tonight!)
And, Sunday evenings we are working through the Book of Colossians

Is Dawn Valley a perfect church

If you should find the perfect church without fault or smear,

Please, don't join that church, you'd spoil the atmosphere.
If you should find the perfect church where all anxieties cease,

Then pass it by lest joining it you mar the masterpiece.

If you should find the perfect church, then don't you ever dare

To tread upon such holy ground you'd be a misfit there.
But since no perfect church exists... made of imperfect men,

Then let's cease looking for that church, and love the one we're in.

Of course it's not a perfect church, that's simple to discern,

But you and I and all of us could cause the tide to turn.
So let's keep working in our church until the resurrection,

And then we each will join God's church without an imperfection.

Paul Langstaff will be speaking, and Deborah and Laura Langstaff will be in charge of Sunday School.
Don't miss it. They will do a great job! This Sunday evening's service will be cancelled. Also, keep in mind that our regular prayer meeting for next week will be moved to THURSDAY, Jan. 4th.

Yes, that's what we're trying to do here at Dawn Valley these days! Last Sunday the big snowstorm we had forced us to cancel everything, so we're moving the kid's Christmas program back to this next Sunday, December 23rd at 11AM. Come join us!
Also, we'll be having a special evening service on the 23rd where we'll be having a candlelight service...amongst other things...

Junior church is going great

We are excited to inform you that Dawn Valley is starting a junior church on October 14! Cherub and Margaret-Langstaff will be in charge and will be using a jungle theme. So invite all the kids each Sunday for 11AM! There will still be the regular Sunday School at 10AM and the usual Sunday worship services at 11AM & 7PM.

Wow. Things seem to be happening one right after another, but it's great to be serving the Lord! Here are some upcoming events....

July 13-22: Rock Lake Family Camp (our family will be here the first weekend, and be at camp over Sunday, July 22 - laypeople will fill in for this Sunday)
August 5: Special guest speaker, Kim Hough and family will fill in (I will be youth speaker at Penns Creek, Pennsylvania)
August 19: Missions service with Tim & Becky Keep family (the Keeps are Bible Methodist Missionaries to the Philippines.
